Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've always wanted to be an artist. I started drawing portraits when I was in the 7th grade. It wasn't until my 10th grade year that my art teacher pushed me to try painting. For some reason I chose an ocean for my first piece. I like to look at that painting to see how far I've come. I'm still trying to find who I am in my work. With each painting I can feel myself getting closer and closer. It's exciting when I paint, I'm extatic, my heart beats faster and I feel like I'm in another world. I look at the painting when I'm finished and I don't remeber doing parts of it. I dream of most of my work. I have to keep paper and pen with me at all times just in case something pops in my head.

My family is a huge part of my art career. My aunt got me into murals. She asked me to paint onef or her Sunday School class when I was 18. And I loved it. I enjoyed every minute of it. I've done a couple of murals for churches. For free of course. They'd just pay for the supplies. One of my little sisters, Kelli seems to be my muse. I love drawing and painting her. My entire family is very encouraging and I wouldn't have gotten where I am with out them. But most of all I wouldn't even have this gift if it weren't for the Lord. He has blessed me beyond belief. So, every brush stroke I make is me giving thanks to Him.

I've never gone to art school. I'd like to someday, but right now it's just not meant to happen. I read alot of art magazines, I've bought videos to see how other artists work. But I still seem to do my own thing. I think it's working out so far.
